  • Powering up

Doberman CEO ranked no 2 on Rum’s power list.

Leading architecture and design magazine Rum has released its power list, which this year is topped by a trio of women and our CEO Lisa Lindström can be found on a glorious 2nd place.

What do these women have in common? According to Rum magazine: a modern leadership, drive and curiosity. Well, that’s our Lisa for you.

So what do you do with that power? According to Lisa it’s all about power to the people.

”You take care of the staff. People who feel good, do good things.” It’s simple to say, but harder to do. As Lisa adds. ”You really need to understand people. Our way of operating is built completely on and around the participation of everyone working here.”

The power list is released each year by leading architecture and design magazine Rum together with Stockholm Design Week and ranks the 100 most powerful within the field of design and architecture in Sweden. This year the top trio were Emma Jonsteg, CEO of Utopia, Lisa Lindström, CEO of Doberman and Johanna Frelin, CEO of Tengbom.

  • Radical problem solving

    Posted December 09, 2015

Using design methods, SKL and Doberman shook up the rigid and ineffective world of solving problems in Swedish municipalities.

This Thursday, SKL (the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions) are hosting a press event in Stockholm to showcase their truly disruptive Förändra Radikalt (“Change Radically”) project, which Doberman designed and helped implement. The goal was to apply design methodology to the toughest challenges in the public sector, so the project not only gave rise to a whole host of new and innovative solutions and tools, but ultimately an entirely new way of working that will help the nine pilot municipalities that participated in the project continue creating more effective solutions for a very long time. The key to the process that we designed is that the municipalities now collaborate with their actual end users, and that together they build and test quick prototypes, all of which both makes the end results more effective and the road to reach them faster.

This collaborative innovation program has been so successful that the pilot municipalities are themselves now spreading their new knowledge to the rest of Sweden’s 290 municipalities, teaching them a way of working that gets their citizens involved and uses prototypes to find the best tools to overcome whatever challenges they each might face. Today and tomorrow. So in essence, this project has radically changed problem solving for local authorities all across Sweden, which means it could potentially affect every single Swede in the end. Not a bad day’s work, if you ask us.

  • A new monkey in a tree

    Posted November 02, 2015

Eternal kid favorite Radioapan is back with a vengeance, and Doberman helped him climb his tree.

A few years back we created the Radioapan-app for Swedish National Radio. Since then Radioapan has been a faithful buddy to Swedish kids, full of fun, games, songs and fairytales – the fourth most used app for kids 2-4 years, on tablet.
Now we have created a sequel; the new app Radioapan’s Treehut, for kids aged 2 and up. The focus this time around is on listening. The app not only offers new games and songs; there are also new fairytales, with the opportunity of downloading more from SR’s existing content, which are then available off-line, to keep the app evolving over time.

    – This is one of those projects that feel a little special – to be a part of so many Swedish kids’ and families’ everyday lives, providing quality entertainment, makes us really proud, says Patricia Richter, Project Manager at Doberman.

Within two days of release, the app was the number one downloaded free kids game app, and it even got reviewed in leading Swedish newspapers (glowingly, in case you wondered).
