Fikse

Helping Oslo based start-up Fikse, repair the world one moth eaten moccasin at a time.

For most of us repairing and maintaining something is a pain, we have little knowledge of what can be fixed, what repairs will cost and how good the result will be. It’s just easier to buy something new. With a renewed industry focus on sustainability and the importance of fixing what we already have, companies like Fikse are leading the way towards changing human behavior to create a more preferable & sustainable future.

Founded by Anine Dedekam Moldskred, Fikse has digitized the repair experience, creating a new improved way for consumers to access repairs & alteration of clothing, shoes, accessories, and wearable electronics.

“Our goal is that more people fix and take care of their things. We work with a number of tailors, shoemakers and other repairers. This means that you get everything in one place, and avoid long waiting times. You get the price in advance, can deliver yourself or have it delivered, and they fix everything from moth-eaten moccasins to a cracked mobile screen” says Fikse founder Anine Dedekam Moldskred.

Designing a company that scales

Together with the Fikse team EY Doberman has helped fine-tune the product strategy in order to build the company in a direction that can scale, as well as redesigning their brand from the ground up to work well digitally. The new visual identity created together with illustrator Momoe Narazaki, helped to confront the barriers to repair directly by illustrating the problems instead of the solution - damaged shoes, broken trousers helping to highlight the things to be fixed, and adding more personality to the brand.

"It was important to us that the visual identity helped to confront the barriers to repair directly. We chose to illustrate the problems instead of the solution – damaged shoes, broken trousers. It helps to highlight which things can be fixed, and adds more personality to the illustrations", says Markus Ackermann , designer at EY Doberman

“It's been absolutely fantastic! We are really impressed by what EY Doberman has achieved in a short time, and see that they understand our wishes and values. There are clear traces of Fikse's soul in the product, which is a result of the fact that they have worked thoroughly without any shortcuts. They have without a doubt been the best collaborators, and we can see that they are passionate about the project. I am always very inspired and engaged after our meetings” says Anine.
